About Us

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that takes young people aged 8-24 sailing and on outdoor adventures to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.

Cancer can have a big impact on a young person’s mental wellbeing. For many young people, simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis isn’t possible. That is why when treatment ends, our work begins.

Through our sailing and outdoor adventures, young people have fun, gain a new sense of purpose and self-worth, rediscover independence, and feel optimism for the future. They realise what they are capable of again - physically, mentally, and socially – and stop feeling like ‘the only one’. They can believe in a brighter future.

What you will do

Get ready for the summer job of your life!

This is a fun, rewarding and impactful way to spend your summer, if you’re someone who is full of ideas and loves being part of a team.

In this role, you will support our Senior Digital & Social Media Lead on producing content and driving engagement across all our social media channels - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.

There are two main objectives - inspire more young people aged 8-24 to believe the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is for them and encourage support through fundraising and donations.

You must be comfortable going out on the water and spending time with young people on a boat during their trips to gather and produce content, and be confident in your writing-for-social skills.

You will also have important responsibilities helping with the management of digital content, and, depending on skills and experience, supporting the comms team with other tasks and in any other ways outlined below and/or requested.
