What's on -  come aboard for our Virtual Summer!

Our support for young people doesn't stop just because we can't go sailing in 2020. From social fun and peer support, to skills development and mental wellbeing we've got your back.

What's On

Monday 21st September @ 9am - Survivor's guilt

We know recovery doesn't end when treatment does. Survivor's guilt can hang over a young person as they progress with their lives, remembering their peers who passed away. Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse Consultant Sue Morgan MBE & Annie, who has sailed with the Trust, have given talks on survivor's guilt and share with Sound Waves why it's important we all acknowledge it. Listen here and then come along to our zoom discussion later this evening!

Monday 21st September @ 6pm - Come and Talk about...Survivors Guilt. Join Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse Consultant, Sue Morgan MBE, and young person, Annie Coyne, for a talk about survivor guilt. No matter what kind of cancer you’re diagnosed with, coping with its emotional toll can continue long after active treatments are over. Sign up to attend here!

Tuesday 22nd September @ 6pm - Dessert Competition finale!

You read that right, we're hosting a 'Trust Style Dessert Competition' via zoom - this is one not to be missed!

Other cool stuff to get involved in

In case you missed it

If you need further support beyond the Trust, in any aspect of your life, there are lots of charities and organisations you can turn to. From cancer support to wellbeing and mental health, financial and careers advice to bereavement and developing your sailing, here are some of them.

Get us Round Britain Your Way

The Trust has sailed the 2,400 miles round Britain twice with crews of young people in 2009 and 2017. But this September, we’re going Round Britain Your Way!

Sign up to run, walk, swim, cycle or by any other imaginative (but safe!) means to help us rack up the total miles to circumnavigate Great Britain together.

Set up your fundraising page and tailor your challenge how you want – the type of activity you want to do, the distance you want to complete and the timescale you want to do it over.

Do it by yourself or as a household, together socially distanced with friends or as a virtual team. And make it as challenging or fun as you want! Just get out there and get Round Britain Your Way to support young people in rebuilding their lives after treatment.
