Run the first-ever Virtual Royal Parks Half Marathon amid the familiar green spaces of your home town and experience the atmosphere of race day through a unique event app. It's like being there but without the hassle of getting there (and home again)!

Be part of this ground-breaking day by supporting the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and running the race distance in your local area. This unique digital experience will celebrate green spaces the length and breadth of the country, with runners coming together to provide critical fundraising for the UK’s charities and to #RunGreen without limits.


  • A unique customised Royal Parks Half app - this will provide runners with as much of a race day experience as possible using digital integrations. Runners will experience the atmosphere of race day through custom audio cues and augmented reality that will bring the iconic racecourse to life as you run in your local area.
  • A guaranteed a place in the October 2021 or 2022 Royal Parks Half Marathon at the standard ballot fee of £59 - but only if you meet or exceed the fundraising target of £175.
  • A premium race pack - this will be sent to you prior to the day with your race bib, sustainable water bottle, courtesy of Royal Bank of Canada, and medal.
  • A unique commemorative finisher shirt - after you complete the race and submit your time through the app, your shirt will be sent to you.

To recreate the event day experience, race morning will incorporate an online warm-up and messages of support from notable faces before the race officially gets underway at 9am. Find find open space and connect with nature, all whilst following the latest government guidance on social distancing.

There will be an interactive leaderboard during the race, and upon completing the run, you will have your time registered on the Royal Parks Half app. The standard winner categories will be awarded as usual, in addition to a new non-binary field.
