We’re going Round Britain this summer and 100 young people who have all sailed with the Trust in recovery from cancer, will be involved in this extraordinary 2,400-mile sailing relay challenge.
Throughout May to September, the Trust’s 44ft voyage yacht, Moonspray, will visit over 60 coastal towns and cities with five different young people joining the crew for each leg.
Round Britain 2017 is the ultimate experience in nurturing confidence, self-belief and independence in young people. But why is this important?
Find out here – Why are we going Round Britain?
You can view a basic map below to get an idea of the route the crew will be taking. We start on 20th May in Largs, Scotland and will then spend 120 days sailing the coast of Britain before returning into Largs Yacht Haven on 23rd September. To ensure the crew have the best possible experience whilst navigating over 2,400 miles of offshore sailing in the UK’s changeable weather, exact stopover plans will be finalised closer to each arrival date. These will be updated on this website, where you will also be able to keep a live track on the progress of the boat and crew.
Round Britain 2017 reaches the length and breadth of the UK, connecting young people and building on the positive moments during their recovery. We would love every community around the UK to be part of this challenge’s fun and adventure.
