World Cancer Day 2018

15th January 2018

The Trust is joining forces with many other charities worldwide on the 4th February to raise awareness of World Cancer Day. The theme this year is taking place under the tagline ‘We can. I can’ which explores how everyone – as a collective or as individuals – can unite to support those affected by cancer.

To imagine a future – WE CAN. I CAN.

Each day ten children and young people learn they have cancer – 80% will be long-term survivors yet their cancer can have lifelong consequences. Thankfully survival rates are increasing but there remains a void between treatment and young people re-discovering a normal life – this is the gap the Trust fills.

Once treatment ends our work begins…

Only after treatment ends, and the doctors and nurses have done their incredible work, can a young person start rebuilding their life following the devastation of cancer.

Thoughts of the future – careers, family, friendships – can feel terrifying, hopeless even. They shouldn’t with your support on world cancer day ‘We can. I can.’ Provide the bridge between treatment and a young person seizing the future they may never have imagined possible.

The difference a trip makes

WE CAN. I CAN. Do something for the Trust

Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, everyone has the power to take action to reduce the impact that cancer has. Help us to continue empowering young people in recovery from cancer by challenging yourself this year – Sign up to one of our 2018 events before World Cancer day on the 4th February and receive a FREE Trust hoodie.

Whether it be about pushing your physical or mental limits or doing something fun with friends, by signing up to one of our events you could help define a young person’s future. Could anything be more satisfying than that?

Whatever you decide to do our fab fundraising team will be on hand to support you every step of the way and can help you to make your efforts really worthwhile.

So what are you waiting for – get involved today
