16 April 2020
Next Sunday (26 April) take part in a major UK-wide event to be a ‘home hero’ and support the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust through the challenges of Covid-19. The 2.6 Challenge has been launched to help save the nation’s charities, which have been severely impacted by the pandemic.
On what should have been the day of the London Marathon - the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event – join the rest of the country for the #TwoPointSixChallenge and raise money for the Trust. All you need is to dream up an idea based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills, age and abilities and complete it on Sunday 26 April.
Could you run or cycle 2.6 or 26 miles as your daily exercise? Hold the plank for 2.6 minutes? Hop for 26 minutes! The only rules are you must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. The main thing is to get active, have fun and help rebuild young lives after cancer.
There are lots of ideas on how to raise funds from your living room, bedroom, balcony or garden here - 26 ways to be a home hero – but we know how creative you can be!
Get involved
To fundraise for the Trust, set up your own #TwoPointSixChallenge fundraising page via these links - Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving. Then get practicing, ask all your friends and family to sponsor you and countdown to Sunday 26 April to complete your #TwoPointSixChallenge!
Or if you don’t want to fundraise, why not show your support and donate £2.60, £26, £260, or whatever you can spare. Everything makes a massive difference. You can donate here – Virgin Money Giving, Just Giving or the Trust website.
It’s also great to see our friends and website gurus at Studio Republic at the forefront of the #TwoPointSixChallenge – great job Team SR!
Thank you!
We know this is a challenging time for everyone, but we’re all getting through this together. By supporting the Trust in the #TwoPointSixChallenge you will be helping to ensure that we can keep supporting young people to rebuild their lives after cancer in the future.
