Summer season is here ☀️

Let the sun shine, the breeze blow and the fun begin - summer season is here!

After a spring of volunteer training, not to mention the first 2019 trip to Bradwell, June will see young people from across the country descend on Cowes and Largs to get afloat and come sailing on four different trips.

The following week, a group of over 18s, who have previously sailed with the Trust in recovery, will spend five days cruising the stunning waters around Scotland's west coast.

It's then Largs' turn to welcome young people aged over 18 from Glasgow, Inverness, Hull and Northern Ireland hospitals for their first Trust experience, before five yachts worth of under 18s return to Cowes to take part in the iconic Round The Island Race over the weekend of 29 June, with the Trust once again the official race charity.

Big summer

Between the start of June and end of September, no fewer than 31 trips are set to take place across the country.

But although September might mean back to school, college and university for many of the young people, it doesn't mean the end of trip season!

A Trust crew competes in the ASTO (Association of Sail Training Organisations) Small Ships Race in early October while for the first time, there are two canal boat trips for under and over 18s with our friends CanalAbility in Essex at the end of that month.

Thumbs up to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust trip 2019 seasonSo whether a young person is having their first Trust experience this summer, or they are coming back and know exactly how it's going to help build their confidence as part of their ongoing recovery, we can't wait to say 'Hello!' to every single one
