Sound Waves episode 2 - Staying safe in the sun

It's Sun Awareness Week! Sound Waves episode 2 is all about staying safe while still enjoying the outdoors.

Sound Waves aims to keep listeners connected during lockdown and beyond, by discussing themes and sparking conversations relevant to anyone impacted by cancer in young people. This could be young people themselves and their families to the medics who look after them in hospital and the volunteers, skippers and staff that provide the support on Trust trips.

This week we're joined by Jade and Jeremy, two young people who have sailed with the Trust twice each, and 2018's Luke Gilbert Volunteer of the Year Award Winner Rosie. They all sailed on 2019's Prolific trip so here they share some stories of their time together, and talk about how to have fun all the while staying safe in the sun. We're also joined by Nick from Musto, who have partnered with the Trust since the very beginning, providing the Trust family with sun-protective clothing on every trip.

We also want to thank players of People's Postcode Lottery for their support. Their backing continues to make a huge difference to the lives of so many, and Sound Waves is the latest way for us to help young people stop feeling alone and like the ‘only one’ feeling the way they do.
