Shape the future and join our Youth Advisory Group

Could you help shape the future of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust? Youth Advisory Group applications are now open.

Young people are at the heart of our decision-making. To make sure their ideas, opinions, and lived experiences guide us, our Youth Advisory Group shape our path forward.

Could you join them?

If you are aged 16+, have been or are currently being supported by the Trust after cancer treatment, and think you can make a positive contribution to help shape the future of the Trust, please apply.

Applications are open now and close on Sunday 22 March 2026. Find out more and apply here.

Your voice is vital in ensuring young people are represented across the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. If you want to speak for them, if you have ideas on how we could do what we do even better, if you feel strongly about other ways young people can engage with the Trust, we want to hear from you.

That’s what Rebecca did when she joined the Youth Advisory Group two years ago.

She said: “I joined when I was 16 and it’s brilliant. I love being able to help and find ways to make other young people feel as supported as I have been, and help them regrow their confidence, make lifelong friends, and no longer feel like they’re defined by their cancer and what it caused them.

“I don’t even think twice about the fact I was so ill. I think just about who I am now, and that could not have been achieved without the Trust.

“I first sailed with the Trust when I was 14 in 2021. It was still COVID time, and I was freshly out of treatment, I still had the side effects, the fatigue. But genuinely, this experience made me remember how capable I was as a person and who I was beyond cancer. My mum even told me she could already tell I was feeling so much more like myself.

“I’ve since been on three more trips. I’ve made some amazing friends. We celebrate the small wins, the big wins, everything in between. Because of all this, I decided to join the Youth Advisory Group as a way to repay everything the Trust has done for me.”
