£20,000 boost from players of People’s Postcode Lottery

Extra funds raised by Postcode Lottery players will help transform the lives of young people living through and beyond cancer

More young people living through and beyond cancer will be able to get the vital Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust support they need thanks to an extra £20,000 award made possible thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Two young people wearing life jackets sit on the edge of a blue sailboat with Peoples Postcode Lottery branding, on calm water under a cloudy sky.

The funding will go towards ensuring young people have somewhere to turn, now and into the future, as they start to believe in their brighter future after the trauma of cancer treatment.

In what is sure to be a time for reflection and celebration, next year sees the 15th anniversary of People’s Postcode Lottery support. Thanks to players, we have been able to be inspire young people with some significant developments, including opening our Largs base in 2013 and the addition of Caledonian Hero and Solent Hero boats, which were specially adapted to make our trips even more accessible.

Dame Ellen MacArthur, Founder and Patron, said: “I am deeply grateful for all players have done and continue to do so that we can be there for every young person when they need us. Quite simply, we would not be able to transform as many young lives as we do without the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.”

Lindsay Nehorai, Fundraising Manager, added: “We are delighted to receive this extra award that will enable us to go further for young people living through and beyond cancer. Because of Postcode Lottery players, more young people will be inspired to believe in a brighter future, and we can’t thank them enough.”
