Fundraisers Robbie and Charlotte join our team

It’s been a great start to 2021 as we welcome two new fundraisers to our team!

Robbie Brown joins as Fundraising and Events Coordinator while Charlotte Sprigings takes on the role of Philanthropy Fundraiser.

Isle of Wight-based Robbie has over six years’ experience in the charity sector, most recently as Fundraising and Events Manager at football's equality and inclusion organisation, Kick It Out and, before that, Prostate Cancer UK.

In his new role he will be responsible for organising and leading on the Trust’s fundraising events, both our own and ones we’re involved in, managing event and corporate partnerships and exploring new event ideas and initiatives to support the Trust.

Robbie said: “Having worked in sport, inclusion, and for various cancer charities, joining the Trust feels like a perfect fit for me. I can’t wait to get stuck into the full events calendar and see the benefits the Trust can have on young people’s lives first-hand.”

Charlotte, meanwhile, is our new Philanthropy Fundraiser, a role created to help towards achieving our Ambitions to Diversify Income.

Charlotte, who will be home-based in Surrey, is a highly-experienced Relationship Manager and fundraiser, who most recently worked for Teenage Cancer Trust. She was also a Teenage Cancer Trust Ambassador for many years having undergone treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and had a Bone Marrow Transplant in her early teens.

At the Trust, she will develop, grow and inspire philanthropic giving, including looking after major donors, and lead on developing our newly-formed annual giving club – the Brighter Futures Community. She will also be involved in Trusts and Foundations income.

Charlotte said: “I am so excited to be starting my new adventure and career path for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and feel lucky to continue my passion in supporting young people with cancer. This is a fantastic charity that has some amazing ambitions and I cannot wait to get going and continue making a positive difference to young people with cancer.”

Lindsay Nehorai, Fundraising Manager, added: “I’m so excited to welcome Robbie and Charlotte to the team.

“Robbie comes with so much proven experience and we can’t wait for him to bring this to building up our events programmes and corporate relationships. We’ve seen the events landscape shift over the past year, and he will help us make the most of new opportunities.

“It’s also wonderful to have Charlotte onboard in what will be a key rolein the Trust diversifying our income over the next two years. She knows the cancer charity sector so well and has such an incredibly positive approach we know she is going to be a huge asset in looking after our existing donors and building relationships with new supporters.”

The Trust relies wholly on donations and fundraising activities to continue helping young people imagine a new future. We would love to hear from you if you can help in any way, please get in touch with our fundraising team here.
