Meet the new Trust teamers

It's been a busy summer on the water and behind the scenes as no fewer than seven newcomers have joined the Trust team.

Some of them you will have met already, some you will have bumped into on your trips or at festivals, some you will become more familiar with as we start planning our 2023 events and getting back out there to encourage more young people to join our trips next summer.

At whatever point your paths cross, it's awesome to have welcomed seven new team members over the past few months, all of whom are already making a massive difference in inspiring more young people to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer. So let's meet them...

Fantastic fundraisers!

Fundraising team on the disco dance stage at Camp Bestival South 2022It's been in at the deep end for the newest recruits to our fundraising team this summer, who have been out in force at events and festivals across the country spreading the word about the Trust.

They've even been part of a new World Record at Camp Bestival's official Largest Disco Dance!

Jade Beasley has joined the crew as our Events & Partnerships Co-ordinator. So if you have an awesome event you would like to put the Trust forward for, want to volunteer at an existing Trust event or have an idea for a new mutually beneficial partnership, Jade is your woman. You can find out more about our events here and corporate support here.

Megan Griffiths has come onboard as our Relationships Fundraiser. As well as getting her dancing shoes on and helping the fundraising team on the road this summer, Megan has been working on developing our major donor programmes and building relationships with key supporters and partners. Megan will lead on our new Brighter Futures Community philanthropy programme too.

Meanwhile, we are so excited that, having arrived at the Trust as maternity cover last September, Ella Rowlinson is now with us full-time as our Community & Individuals Fundraiser. From bake sales to birthday giving, sky-diving to mountain climbing, going alone or teaming up with pals, Ella wants to hear your ideas! Get inspired here and remember you can download our fundraising pack here.

Making the magic happen

Jill WallaceYoung people wouldn't get on the water without the logistical wizardry of our amazing Operations team on the Isle of Wight and in Scotland.

So we were super excited to welcome Jill Wallace to the team, as our Young Person & Hospital Liaison, North. Based in our Largs office, Jill will work with our hospitals and charity partners from the West Midlands, across the North of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland to inspire young people to come sailing with the Trust in 2023. Jill will also be the main source of information and point of contact for all young people and families in the build up to those trips. You can find out about those trips here - Come Sailing.

Down South, Cat Platts is helping make sure the organisation and admin of getting young people on trips runs smoothly as our Operations Administrator in our East Cowes office, while in both bases Ollie Clows (South) and Harry McGill (North) have been doing whatever needs doing - packing, lifting, carrying, running, transporting, pretty much anything and everything - as our Summer Trip Assistants.

It's great to have you #AllOnBoard!
