Last month, we revealed we had teamed up with The Baytown Coffee Company, who were creating a special roast dedicated to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
£1 from every bag is being donated to the Trust to inspire more young people to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer and you can get yours now to enjoy great coffee and support the Trust.
The Baytown Coffee Company, nestled on the North Yorkshire Coast, has a very personal connection to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. Founded and run by Nick and Ann Louise, their 16-year-old son Harry has been supported by the Trust since 2018 after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia aged four.
A rounded and full-bodied, single-origin coffee, Maritime Mornings captures that moment when everything is tranquil and still before a day at sea or on the coast. The medium, versatile roast brings out chocolatey, nutty, and cherry flavour notes and the coffee will be sold as beans or ground for any of the following cafetière - filter, moka pot or espresso.
Ella Rowlinson, the Trust’s Community and Individuals Fundraiser said: “It is so exciting to now bring Maritime Mornings to our community and The Baytown Coffee Company’s dedicated and passionate customers. We are so grateful both for the donations and the awareness of the Trust that Maritime Mornings will generate, to help us support even more young people who are living through and beyond cancer.”
Maritime Mornings will also be available on subscription soon so if you like what you taste, you will be able to take out a multi-bag subscription and make an even bigger difference over time.
Last month we invited you to vote for one of three possible names for our new coffee, with a year’s subscription of the newly named roast up for grabs in the free prize draw. Congratulations to Patricia Bennett from Blackpool who is the lucky winner of 2 x 250g bags of coffee, once a month for a whole year.
Grown at an altitude of between 900m and 1,200m above sea level in Brazil’s Cerrado region. The coffee cherries are grown on the first farm in Brazil to achieve Rainforest Alliance certification.
The farm uses a variety of beans grown in terroir, and the cherries are harvested using their own purpose-built machinery, which ensures only the ripe cherries are picked. The farm is a real leader in sustainability in the coffee industry.
