Social media and the technology of today have made it easier than ever before to make a difference and show your support to the causes you care about most, such as the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
Here’s a couple of ways you can help young people look beyond cancer without having to move from the comfort of your couch.
Create a Facebook fundraiser
Facebook has become a really powerful tool for fundraising, raising millions for UK charities. If you have a birthday coming up why not use Facebook and ask your friends and family for donations instead of presents.
Two weeks before your birthday, Facebook will show a prompt in your news feed that gives you the option to create a fundraiser.
All you have to do is select the Trust, add a goal amount and create a custom message. On your birthday your friends will see a notification inviting them to donate to your cause and make your birthday more meaningful.
Add a sticker
Earlier this year stickers were introduced to the stories features which can now be used on both Instagram and Facebook. It’s super simple: just add the ‘donate’ sticker to your stories. This is a great way to help maximise your fundraising potential.
Join the mobile giving the revolution
To make a donation text ‘EMCTRUST’ and your amount, e.g. £10 or however much you would like to give, to 70085 – it really is as simple as that.
Shop and support with Amazon Smile
Instead of using the usual Amazon website to shop, go to smile.amazon.co.uk and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (exc. VAT, returns & shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charity of your choice, i.e. us!
AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know, just every time you buy, a young person benefits.
