Geared up for CarFest 2021!

We couldn't be more excited to be gearing up CarFest North - our first festival outing of 2021! The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is one of seven CarFest partner charities, with CarFest South taking place in Hampshire at the end of August.

After almost two years away from the festival fields, we're getting back out to spread the word about the Trust in the summer sunshine (hopefully!) at CarFest North this weekend (23-25 July).

The Trust fundraising team ably supported by a number of awesome volunteers will be spending three days at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire, in the first of the two CarFests this summer as the festival celebrates its 10th birthday!

CarFest is the brainchild of TV and Radio personality Chris Evans and in 2019, the Trust received an incredible £244,644 from the two CarFest events! CarFest is the biggest family fundraising festival in the UK – raising over £16 million to date. As a charity partner since 2019, the Trust receives 6% of the funds raised from these events.

In addition to the raft of safety measures CarFest will have in place to be COVID-compliant, the Trust team will be taking the same care as we are with our sailing and outdoor activities to make sure everyone who comes to see us and takes part in any of our CarFest activities can be confident we are doing everything we can to keep them safe.

So what can you get involved in at CarFest?

CarFest visitors can take part in laughter yoga sessions in the Soul Stretch Spa area. There will also be areas for visitors to experience a ‘Taste of the Trust’ relaxing and playing board games.

There will also be a range of free activities for children to enjoy with freestyle drawing on sail cloth and postcards and pictures to colour in.

Visitors can enter the paper boat competition, creating their own vessels with popsicle sticks and paper. Sail across the paddling pool to win a sticker and be entered into a special prize draw to win a bundle of Musto kit. .

Lindsay Nehorai, Trust Fundraising Manager, said: "We're so happy to be getting back on the road for CarFest North. CarFest have been incredible supporters over the past two years, and even last year, when things were so hard for everyone, CarFest always remembered the charities and kept us fully up to date with their plans.

"It will be wonderful to be meeting people face-to-face again and introducing them to the Trust. They were incredible festivals in 2019, now bring on 2021!"

Feel like you're there!
