Christmas is literally just around the corner so now is the time to start thinking about how you could spread some Trust magic this year.
The festive season is the time for giving, spending time with friends and family and overindulging it’s the perfect time to get involved in some fundraising and raise more than just a glass this season.
Whether it’s a cake sale, carol concert or Christmas lunch, you can turn it into a festive fundraiser. Here are a few ideas to get you started…
🧁 Host a Mince Pie and Mingle – Bake or bring delicious Christmas treats to sell whether, at home, work or in the community baking events are an almost guaranteed fundraising win.
🎄Christmas Quiz – Let’s get quizzical. Make the most of the Christmas party season and get your friends and colleagues together for a festive quiz, charging each person a fee to enter.
💃Trustmas Party – Ask your employer if your Christmas party can be in aid of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, or throw your own don some sparkly clothes and spread the Trust magic.
🎬 Festive Film-a-thon – We love ‘Home Alone’ and ‘The Grinch’ as much as the next person, but there’s nothing as comforting as watching a true Christmas classic. Invite your friends round for a Festive Filmation and watch your all-time favourites.
Think of the money you will save on going to the cinema, use that to donate to the Trust. Why not take turns to host each week in December and watch the donations grow.
🥶Dare to Dip – This might not sound like everyone’s idea of fun but trust us it’s the best way to blow off the Christmas cobwebs. We will be hosting our annual Isle of Wight dip at Gurnard Green. But you don’t have to live on the Isle of Wight to get involved. Boxing Day Dips happen across the UK so if there’s one near you, why not brave it or if there isn’t there’s still time to throw your friends in and plan your own.
