It is awesome to once again be a charity partner for Camp Bestival and CarFest.
The festivals continue to be incredible long-term supporters, both in terms of funds they raise but also in providing us with the platform to raise awareness of the difference we make in inspiring young people to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.
At the end of July, the team were out doing their thing at Camp Bestival (Dorset), sprinkling the Trust magic across the glorious grounds of Lulworth Castle, and celebrating an incredible 12 years of Camp Bestival support. Thanks to our awesome Ambassador and Camp Bestival co-founder, Rob Da Bank, for everything.
CarFest coming
On August Bank Holiday, our founder and patron, Dame Ellen MacArthur is set to join the team and our awesome 2023 CarFest Ambassadors, Yasmin and Tadiwa, at the CarFest extravaganza at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire.
Since first supporting the Trust in 2019, CarFest - the brainchild of broadcaster Chris Evans – has raised more than £600,000 to ensure even more young people from across the UK can come sailing with us.
Once again, this year, 15% of the face value of every ticket purchased for CarFest goes straight to its partner charities, with the Trust receiving 7% of the funds raised through tickets sales. Dobble the fun!
Anyone who’s sailed with us knows just how much we love Dobble at the Trust. And, thanks to our friends at board game company, Asmodee, we are bringing the joy of family gaming to the fields with favourite Cobra Paw, Bunny Hops, Egg Slam and everyone’s favourite Dobble.
As our festival partner for 2023, Asmodee are kindly supplying us with great games to encourage amazing stories and helping to bring the essence of our trips to the festival fields!
Lindsay Nehorai, Fundraising Manager, said: “This is always one of our favourite times of the year. Not only are the festival organisers unbelievably supportive but we meet so many incredible, generous people at the festivals themselves who are inspired by the difference we make to young people after treatment.
“Yasmin, our CarFest Ambassador, discovered the Trust as a visitor to CarFest in 2021 and since then has sailed with us twice. So, it’s not just about fundraising but opening up new opportunities to young people who might need our support too.”
