Great news – the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust has been selected for the BBC Radio 4 Appeal again!

The BBC Radio 4 Appeal is a massive opportunity to tell the story of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s magic to the whole country. It is a major platform to inspire donors and fundraisers to brighten young people's futures too.

A weekly programme, the BBC Radio 4 Appeal highlights a charity and the difference they make with an appeal for donations.

Our three-minute broadcast will air sometime between August and October, with a repeat at a later date. Exact timings are to be confirmed.

Shine a light

Now we are hard at work putting together the broadcast and everything that comes with it: what story to tell, how to tell it, and the right way to ask listeners to make a difference to young lives.

In 2019, the appeal featured Dervla and helped us raise more than £11,696! Its success speaks to how many people resonated with Dervla’s story and the need for young people to have somewhere to turn post-treatment, where they can connect with others who are literally 'in the same boat'.

Lindsay Nehorai, Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re so delighted to be part of the BBC Radio 4 Appeal again. It means a huge amount to us to be able to share the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s story with new listeners, just as we did last time, and to shine a light on the difference this support makes for young people. We’re incredibly grateful for the chance to reach even more people this year and for everything it will make possible."

Stay tuned for more details in the run up to the appeal.
