This is your chance to have your design feature on next year's Musto tee worn by hundreds of young people on adventures across the summer

Chrissy's design is featured. It shows people standing arm in arm with their backs to the viewer, as they look out to sea where there are three yachts branded with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust's logo. It is coloured in gentle blues and light reds. Each year, the Musto t-shirt worn by hundreds of young people on their adventures is designed by someone supported by the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

This means not only are the tops super practical and sun-safe (they have UPF 50 protection!), but they look awesome too. The moment at the start of a trip when everyone unwraps their colourful and creative t-shirts is always a highlight of the week.

Whether you’re coming sailing or enjoying an outdoor adventure this summer, you are invited to get involved! All you need to do is capture, in words or pictures, ‘What The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust Means To Me’.

And by taking part, you will automatically be entered into a random prize draw to win an amazing Musto goodie bag worth £350 too!

2025's artist

On this year's adventures, the tees feature a design by Chrissy. It shows people standing side by side looking at three yachts on the water, capturing a sense of togetherness and adventure.

Ahead of coming back for another week on the water this Monday (23 June), Chrissy told us all about what inspired her.

She said: “For my design I’ve focused on disability, confidence and unity. I drew us standing arm in arm looking out to the boats, mirroring a moment I’ll never forget from my first night on an Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust sailing trip.

“I wanted to highlight the disability aspect of it because that was the part that impacted me the most. Most of us are all navigating life after cancer with new disabilities. Our confidence has never been lower and the trust we have in our bodies doesn’t exist anymore, but regardless, we are all here defying the odds and proving to ourselves we can achieve anything, especially together as team.”

Chrissy is pictured in profile sitting on the bow of the boat, facing the pontoon. It's a nice summer's day, and Chrissy is smiling at the camera."I could do everything someone with two shoulders could do"

She credits the charity with giving her the confidence to achieve her goals after treatment.

She said: “I know it sounds cliché, but when I went on my first sailing trip I was still new to having a disability. I almost cancelled because I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to join in and I’d just be a hindrance to my crew.

“That couldn’t be further from the truth. They showed me I could do everything someone with two shoulders could do, we just had to adjust things a little! Since then I’ve achieved so much and ticked things off my bucket list I never thought was possible.”

With her third trip on the horizon, she reflected on the camaraderie of her adventures up until now, having made new friendships she knows will last a lifetime. Together, she can switch off from the real world, forget about hospitals, and have a laugh with people who are going through the same thing.

Her favourite part? “Nothing beats that feeling of standing behind the helm, watching the crew work so perfectly together. If I could bottle up that feeling I would.

“I also can’t wait to see the team again and meet some new people. With an added bonus of everyone wearing Musto shirts with my design on the back!”
