CarFest raises over £150,000 for the Trust

Broadcaster Chris Evans’ festival CarFest will transform hundreds more young lives after donating over £150,000 to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust following two huge events in Cheshire and Hampshire.

More young people living through and beyond cancer will be inspired to believe in a brighter future thanks to the incredible support from CarFest North and South this summer.

The Trust has been supported by the festival since 2019. In that time, CarFest has raised more than £500,000 for the Trust through ticket sales, onsite fundraising, and auctions.

Created by Chris Evans in 2012, CarFest has raised over £20 million for UK charities and is the UK’s largest family fundraising festival. Featuring music performances, celebrity chef demonstrations, impressive car stunts, amazing activities and celebrity appearances, the festival is a treat for every member of the family.

Our CarFest Ambassador

The Trust was delighted to attend CarFest North and South this year with our CarFest Ambassador, Bella, who took to the stage and shared her experiences with cancer and the Trust.

Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at three years old, she spent lots of time in hospital and received chemotherapy for two years. It was a difficult time for Bella and her family: she missed school and struggled to catch up, and it was tough to move on following her treatment.

After her first sailing trip with the Trust, she felt less alone and found somewhere she could relax among others who had been through what she had been through too. She said: “When I am with the Trust, I feel part of something and independent. Thank you.”

Along with her inspirational appearances at CarFest North and South, Bella returned to the Trust this summer at Essex Outdoors Bradwell.

See you there next year!

The Trust is proud to be supported by CarFest and we can’t wait for 2023’s edition of the festival. It takes place 25-27 August at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire - we will see you there! Check out the great lineup on their website and buy your tickets now.
