More young people living through and beyond cancer will benefit from the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust's life-changing sailing and outdoor adventures thanks to the support of CarFest this year.
Created by Chris Evans in 2012, CarFest has raised over £20 million for UK charities and is back for its 11th edition in 2022. Last year CarFest raised an incredible £134,492.95 for the Trust giving so many young people the chance to come sailing for the first time or return to the Trust this summer.
This weekend (22-24 July) the Trust team will join the CarFesters at Bolesworth, Cheshire for CarFest North, where headliners include former Spice Girl Melanie C, Ronan Keating, The Verve's Richard Ashcroft, McFly and Nile Rodgers and Chic, not to mention a host of top DJs and TV entertainers.
Then it's all on to Laverstoke Park, near Basingstoke, for CarFest South on 26-28 August.

CarFest's mission is to do more good for its charity partners, which as well as the Trust this year include BBC Children in Need, Comic Relief, My Black Dog, Rainbow Trust, Starlight Children’s Foundation and Teenage Cancer Trust and a number of additional local and hugely deserving charities.

Come and say hello and find out more about how the Trust inspires young people to believe in a brighter future in the CarFest AdventureFest park. Enter the ultimate 'gutter boat race' – select (or build!) your vessel, choose your power source and race 'around' the Isle of Wight, where young people sail with the Trust. Everyone will be entered into a prize draw and whoever records the winning time will take home an exciting prize!
Meet our CarFest Ambassador, Bella
We're so happy that young person, Bella, will be representing the Trust as our Ambassador at both CarFests this year.
At three-and-a-half years old, Bella was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. She had chemotherapy for over two years and spent a lot of time in hospital. Bella missed quite a lot of school and struggled to catch up. It was hard for Bella and her family to plan anything or move on after treatment.
Before going on her first sailing trip, Bella was quite nervous, but found that everyone was so friendly and welcoming. That adventure made her feel less alone and at ease among others who had been through cancer treatment too. She said: "When I am with the Trust, I feel part of something and independent. Thank you."
