Hi, we are...
Amanda and Alex from Ashbury Labelling
Made the Trust our company 2016 Charity of the Year – staff organised and took part in a whole host of events over the year, including raffles, quizzes, a bowling event, doing the Carsington Water Walk, hosting fundraising dinner parties and donating to the Trust instead of sending Christmas cards. Amanda and three friends also completed a sponsored swim in Salford Quays.
Amanda: My son Jack sailed with the Trust in recovery and now volunteers. The difference I personally saw the Trust made to my son makes me want to support it in any way I can.
Alex: We were all aware of the Trust’s work through a video Jack did as part of the Trust’s 12 Years 12 Stories project so it was no surprise that we voted to support the Trust for the year.
We found fundraising...
Amanda: Motivating - this charity is incredibly personal to me and I know how important every penny is. We will be paying for 11 young people to go on their first Trust trip in 2017 and I am delighted.
Alex: Bowled us over - all those little donations really do add up over the course of a year.
Top fundraising tip
Amanda: Make sure the events include family and friends of employees, so you’re not constantly asking the same people for money.
Alex: The real boost was the raffle - I was surprised how willing companies were to offer some really amazing prizes and we raised over £1,600 in ticket sales. Also don’t underestimate how much people will pay to see their boss humiliated!
