What else you need to know

Building belonging

We value equality, diversity, and inclusion, oppose prejudice, and are committed to being an anti-racist organisation.

We strive to be more representative of all young people who have had a cancer diagnosis in the UK and believe diversity amongst the Trust team is key to building belonging and delivering equitable experiences for all.

To believe the Trust is for them, young people must see volunteers like them.

Meet volunteer Kirstie

"When I think of trips, I just think of the fun I’m having."

Kirstie has come full circle with the Trust. She sailed as a young person, was a volunteer, and now supports in her capacity as a trip medic. After years of spending summers with the Trust, Kirstie sees the changes in young people as they return again and again.

Other ways you can help

Come and Skipper

Could you use your professional sailing skills to help young people rebuild their lives after cancer?

Each year the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust employs Freelance Skippers to work on our sailing trips from Cowes and Largs between June and October.

As a Skipper, you have overall responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the crew, the safety and security of the vessel and its equipment at all times.
